The Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis is dedicated to the maiden goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Its construction began in 447 BC when the Athenian Empire was at the height of its power. It was completed in 438 BC, although decoration of the Parthenon continued until 432 BC. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is regarded as an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece and of ancient democracy and one of the world's greatest cultural monuments. The Ancient Agora of Athens or the Forum is the best-known example of an ancient Greek agora, located to the northwest of the Acropolis. The Romans built a Forum during their occupation which is located to the north of the acropolis. In the shadow of the Acropolis, the Plaka is like a village within the city The Plaka is the oldest section of Athens. Most of the streets have been closed to automobile traffic. Although touristy, cafes, restaurants and clubs make this a happening part of the city. less

In the traditional Santorini cuisine besides the wide variety of seafoods best served grilled we can distinguish the following ingredients and dishes: Fava is a puree made with Fava beans.
