Food of Michoacan

After visiting the butterflies in Sierra Chinqua, we were lucky enough to be directed to Cocina El Mirador which is an authentic cowboy restaurant. It is basically a barn, with a few tables on a dirt floor and a wood-fired griddle. Fresh Steak, cactus leaves and onions with simple quesadillas was prepared for us on a wood fired stove. In this authentically rustic setting I sat down to one of the best and truly unique dining experiences. Simple sometimes is best.

Animals have good instincts for this sort of thing. If Michoacan is so special for them there must be a good reason. Hosted by Roberto Mitrotti less
